In the early 1980s, the CEO of IDK Ventures was designing a model railroad
layout. After deciding the era for the layout, he wanted a name for
the railroad. After many days of not finding a suitable name, he
said to his wife, “I don't know what to name the model railroad.
I just can't think of a name.”
|That is when the light bulb turned on!
He called it the IDK RR “I Don't Know Railroad”.
From that date, any venture became the IDK.
The company was originally known as IDK, followed by IDK Enterprises,
and currently IDK Ventures. The first name change was because IDK
was a registered company name in the state of Minnesota and unavailable.
IDK Enterprises was registered as the official business name. A few
years later, the CEO wanted to establish a presence on the Internet only
to discover that IDK, IDK Enterprises, and IDK Systems were all registered
